Why I Love Marketing For Ed Tech

February 14, 2017

By: Craig Spooner

As someone who has less-than-fond memories of dirty, ink-blotched projectors and limited daily installments of Math Blaster and Oregon Trail, having a front row seat to the wonders of the modern classroom is an absolute thrill. Discovering how an ed tech solution can transform the lives of educators and students is truly a rewarding experience. Today, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, I’d like to share why I love marketing in the education technology market.

I love Marketing

Since I was in school, classroom technology has moved beyond the unforgiving, dysentery-filled world of the Oregon Trail and closer to technology-rich classrooms that encourage the development of 21st-century skill sets. Instead of enforcing time limits on the use of computer programs, educators are now the champions of the most fascinating and eye-opening educational technology in existence, and the impact on student engagement and achievement speaks for itself.

You might be asking yourself, “Why focus on connecting educators with products and services for schools?” Well, the answer is simple. In order to affect change on any level, one must do everything in their power to support movements that have the opportunity to positively affect the masses, even if in some cases “the mases” refers to one classroom. However, marketing in education isn't as simple as convincing someone to buy your product. It’s about becoming their partner in a journey to best educate their students and support their staff.

By building market awareness about products and services for school advancement, we can connect students and teachers with meaningful assets that set up the next generation for success. And that’s not all. Beyond connecting educators with products and services, we get to jump in the trenches with some of the most respected and valuable influencers and educators out there and experience first-hand the effort to make a difference. We feed on this positive energy, which drives us to do everything we can to reaching the people who need it the most.

At PR with Panache!, we work with our clients as one team, and together we’re able to make a difference in the way educators approach their work. Teddy Roosevelt once said, “Far and away the best prize life has to offer is a chance to work hard at work worth doing.” And I guess I would add this: what makes work worth doing is getting to do it with people who share the same values, drive, and vision. So go out, build your team, and get to work!
