Email Isn’t Dead: Engage Ed Tech Decision Makers

March 2, 2017

By: Jacob Hanson

We’ve all seen it—email’s personalized with the wrong person’s details, emails sent multiple times to the same person or the irreversible sight of a watermark from an unpurchased stock image. These things can lower a prospect’s trust in a company and erode brand loyalty.

Ensure you get the most out of every interaction with an ed tech decision maker via email with this 30 second checklist!

  • Don’t come across spammy, use an email or name that reflects your business. Make it obvious who is sending the email by ensuring your business name is included in the from email.

  • Check your personalization tokens and make sure you have fallbacks in place for subscribers with incomplete data. If you’ve included a personalized greeting, make sure to send a test email to yourself (and maybe a few others) to ensure all fields populate correctly.

  • Have you checked every. single. link? Let’s face it, broken links are the worst. A broken link will annoy your recipients to no end and they will rarely give you a second chance. (same goes for your images!)

  • Are you using action language in your headline and CTA? (back up, and make sure your email includes a CTA!) Research shows that recipients are far more likely to open your emails and take action on your CTA’s when you incorporate action verbs.
