You don’t need to be a master in Google’s search algorithms in order to optimize ed tech content on your site, but there are a number of “boxes” you should check before you click that ‘Publish’ button.
Check out these 8 easy steps that will have you on the fast track to content optimization!
Step 1.) Pick the focus keyword for your post
Step 2.) Add your focus keyword to the title of the post
Step 3.) If your site doesn’t automatically update your URL based on the title of your post, edit the URL to include your focus keyword and, if possible, the entire title of the post
Step 4.) Change the image ‘alt-text’ or ‘alt-tag’ on all images to match your focus keyword
Step 5.) Update the meta-description to include a short description of the post, making sure to include your focus keyword
Step 6.) Utilize outbound links to valuable content—not only is this good etiquette, Google loves it when your content is tied to other related resources
Step 7.) Add a ‘Subscribe’ button to your blog page
Step 8.) Use social media to broaden the reach of your blog post, sharing your posts across your social platforms to gain even more exposure to your content
