Students will receive access to Pattern's latest children's book, Treasure Hunters.
Students using the digital literacy program myON, will now have access to best selling author James Patterson’s newest children’s book, Treasure Hunters. Patterson is partnering with myON to increase student engagement and promote reading over the summer.
myOn is a digital literacy platform that offers 24/7 access to over 7,000 digital books. It’s a subscription based service that offers embedded learning tools. Students take an initial Lexile Placement exam and myOn then creates a dashboard for the student based on their preferences and skill level. The platform also includes metrics teachers and administrators can use to gauge reading mastery at the building and district level.
Patterson is the creator of readkiddoread.com and a long-standing supporter of children’s literacy and the importance of reading in a child’s development. His book Treasure Hunters, is the first in a new series of books that follows the Kidd family on their quest for adventure. The book is recommended for students in grades three to seven.
Patterson also filmed a public service announcement that will be featured on Education Talk radio for a 30-minute segment. He is also partnering with myON to invite students, teachers and parents to participate in myON’s first national book talk on September 15th.
Students may submit questions to the author via the “Write a Review” section after finishing the digital book. Those questions may be featured during the national book talk.
