Tales2go Introduces Library License

School librarians can now purchase an introductory subscription to Tales2go that includes 25 licenses to lend to students to use on mobile devices

Bethesda, MD – January 31, 2017 – Tales2go Inc. announces today a new introductory subscription offering for its award-winning service. Different from a building license, which provides a take-home license for every student, a Tales2go library license provides up to 10 licenses for use in the library/media center and 25 lendable licenses that can be shared with individual students on mobile devices.

Tales2go supports the development of literacy skills during a student’s most critical early childhood and elementary school years. Repeated exposure to sophisticated words, spoken fluently and in context, drives vocabulary acquisition and retention, which is a key component of reading proficiency. Reading proficiency, in turn, is critical to academic success. Yet most students lack such an exposure and have a limited vocabulary. The Tales2go service easily adds a listening component to classroom reading instruction and is used in some of the largest and most progressive districts in the U.S., including Los Angeles Unified School District (California), Broward County Schools (Florida), Berkeley Unified School District (California) and Heartland Area Education Agency (Iowa).

“We’re excited to make this introductory version of Tales2go available to school librarians,” said Tales2go Co-Founder and CEO, William Weil. “While our building license remains a valuable and cost-effective resource for many schools and districts, particularly those with high free and reduced lunch populations, some school librarians have expressed a desire for an introductory offering. We wanted to be responsive to that group.”

Tales2go works with leading audio book publishers ranging from Recorded Books, Scholastic, Weston Woods Studios, Blackstone Audio, Oxford University Press and Oasis Audio, as well as established storytellers such as Bill Harley, Willy Claflin, Regi Carpenter and Odds Bodkin.
