(West Long Branch, NJ) May 16, 2016 - On May 20th the New Jersey Education Innovation Summit will be held at Monmouth University. The annual event is sponsored by the state's InnovateNJ office and is hosted by the Learning Counsel, a national K-12 research, events and news media organization.

Attendance is free to educators but they must register through the Learning Counsel website registration page. A statewide event, the New Jersey Department of Education welcomes all educators to take part in the day’s activities.

The day-long event, starting at 8am and ending at 5pm, will be opened by Kimberly Harrington, the Chief Academic Officer of the New Jersey Department of Education. The Keynote will be delivered by LeiLani Cauthen the CEO and Publisher of the Learning Counsel. Host for the day is Dr. David Kafitz, the Senior Vice President of the Learning Counsel.

Attendees will hear from a host of education leaders and peers on their successful innovation programs as well as take part in break-out sessions to hear about the latest tools, software and practice to improve teaching and learning.

A 2015 national Learning Counsel survey of 540 education leaders on digital curriculum showed that 77% of America’s K-12 Students have access to a digital computing device for a significant portion, if not all, of the school day. We are at a tipping point. Instructors are increasingly bothered by the complexity of the curriculum software evolution, while fascinated by the possibilities.

This event is an opportunity to innovate New Jersey in ways that will dramatically alter the future trajectory of our students. This is a time to get together and collaborate on how to do this and see what’s working.
